Clematis – Clematis
Clematis (otherwise called clematis) is a climbing plant, who likes sunny places and humid surfaces. The cascade of its flowers and leaves beautifully decorates the balustrade of the balcony or terrace, and even the wall of the building. The plant, cutting her (but only during the flowering period!) we can give any, fancy shapes.
The Jackmatti variety is characterized by particularly beautiful and expressive flowers.
Unlike other clematis, it needs shade for the ground-level part of the stem. So we advise you to plant other low plants around the flowers or to put decorative stones on the ground in the pot, which will protect the stem from the sun.
When we decide to grow clematis at home, it can be planted at any time of the year. It grows best in a substrate which is a mixture of peat and sand (in equal proportions). When buying already grown plants, it is good to choose flowering plants, because then we will be sure, what color will the flowers be.
Clematis is a climbing plant, so it requires a suitable support. It can be made of tall sticks stuck in the ground, however, by far the best plant
grows on a wooden grate. Movable grilles offer many possibilities, which is attached to the wall in any way. You can buy them at a garden store or make them yourself – it's not really that complicated.
